So far, I'm pretty much in love with series and I'm really happy with how things are going. Having read the Six of Crows Duology first, I've definitely gone into this series knowing more than I should (though luckily not too much about the plot-line itself thanks to the fact that the spin-off duology focuses on a completely different set of characters in a completely different nation!) and I'm having such a great time reading the "original" series.

I don’t remember anything from my first read of this series, but seriously, is anyone shipping Mal right now? What a whingy little ingrate. No wonder the Darkling is everybody’s fav. Mal won’t even let Alin use her magic, like she’s not allowed to be herself and has to change and shrink herself to fit him. I’m not rooting for him. Those two together are just toxic and every interaction is a fight, then someone ignoring the other and refusing to talk to them. Guess what, the silent treatment is c

I feel like my rating is more of a 3.5 star than 3 but I can't quite bring myself to rate it 4 stars. While I enjoyed the introduction of new characters and the build up of a war between the Darkling and Alina, I felt like the book had some slow parts. It started off with an exciting beginning and the end was fast paced and action packed, but the middle dragged and I struggled to get through it. I look forward to reading the last book, because I do want to know what happens to the story, but thi

That last scene with the Darkling... ^^' Wow...
This book was so good. Especially scince the middle books in trilogies are often slow, but this one wasn't. So much happened.
I hope we meet back up woth Nikolja pretty early in the last book. I like him :) ...more
