I grabbed this off the readers choice shelf at the library mainly for the quilt aspect. It turned out to be another re-inventing yourself after a layoff book. I'm beginning to wonder why these books are drawn to me? In this case, after losing her television job and having one of the worst days of her life, Carly finds herself returning to the home of a psychic who gave her a quilt and a reading. As Carly's life is shattered and she picks up the pieces, she helps puts the lives of her new friends ...more

A nice light read with a few twists and turns, enough to keep me interested enough to finish it. The quilt thread (excuse the pun) was only a small part of the story and for that I was grateful. I'm finding so many of these "format" novels (cookies, recipes, knitting, quilting etc:) are way too light on content and frankly are boring. This story was well written and I would rate it as good beach reading material. ...more
