Gosh, I feel so stupid because I thought this book was a nominee for this year's award. DAAAMN. I'm so out of date! I tried to finish it asap so I can vote this one over Tell Me Three Things. (Yup, I'm that obsessed to participate in the voting. Just kill me now!) So after I finished this book, of course it wasn't on the list! How annoying! Instead, it's her other book, The Sun is Also a Star. So, I have to swallow it after all. At least I got a good reading.

It's about a girl named Maddy who Gosh, I feel so stupid because I thought this book was a nominee for this year's award. DAAAMN. I'm so out of date! So after I finished this book, of course it wasn't on the list! How annoying! Instead, it's her other book, The Sun is Also a Star. So, I have to swallow it after all. At least I got a good reading.

It's about a girl named Maddy who has s super low immune system that's why she always stays at home to prevent being sick (CMIIW). Her house has already been sterilized (Duh!) and not everyone can come. One has to go through a decontamination process for an hour just to see her! And no touching allowed! How maddening! This cruel/insane disease's called SCID. Seriously! If I were to choose, I'd rather had cancer than SCID. I still can go everywhere I want, right?

This book's also about a boy named Olly. He just moved in the neighborhood. He's fit as a fiddle and pretty good in parkour. So what's his problem? Well, he lives in hell, too. A broken home with a stupid drunkard dad and a silly mom who couldn't leave her husband. But then when Olly and Maddy.....

Okay, I'm gonna stop here. I bet you can imagine what happens between these two young people.

Really, it's hard for me to not give this book a four stars because I like it. I like the writing style, the short chapter, the illustrations, the cover, the new disease it talks about (at least for me), the plot twist (it's kinda ruin the story, tho, but still acceptable for me), and how this book made me an understanding reader. How can I not? Because I understand why Maddie, Olly, Carla and her mother decided to do the things they did. It's just full of sympathy. Well, somehow there was a moment after the plot twist that felt like I was reading a women's literature instead of YA. Just a moment, tho.

If you decide to read this book, I do hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Now I'm gonna put my hands on Lily and the Octopus. You know why. I hope I can finish it ASAP. So see ya!
