This book has certainly showed the agony faced during WWII through the eyes of a 11-year-old girl,Liesel. The plight of Jews, frugal rations, freezing weather.. have transported me altogether to a new world, Himmel Street!
And yes, not to forget to mention the first person narration of the book by none other than Death.
"1943 was a busy time for me " - says Death.
The Irony here is,
Death who itself steals the lives of people goes on to narrate the story of a Book thief!!

I love this story even more the second time around. I have to admit that when I first read this in freshmen year, I was not really into it and found the narration boring. This time though, I listened to the audiobook version, which I really really enjoyed. I highly recommend this emotional historical fiction, especially if you are looking for a book set during the World War II time.
