The Girls is the life story of Rose and Ruby Darlen, craniopagus twins who are joined at the head, who live to the age of 30. I’ve only previously read one other book on conjoined twins, Ludmila’s Broken English by DBC Pierre, which I did not care for (surprising because I LOVED his first novel, Vernon God Little) and Lansens’ novel does a much better job of humanizing these twins.
