I am a huge fan of S.L. Scott and have read everything she has written in the last few years and have loved them all. And books like Tulsa is the reason why. She writes emotional, heartwarming, sexy and steamy stories that engage you from beginning to end. There is not a book of hers I have read I would not highly recommend.

Tulsa brings you the story of not one, but 2 rockstars! Now, full disclosure, I'm not really a fan of the rockstar romances. I think rockstars tend to be major douchebags and I just get irritated waiting for them to get over themselves. But, I love SL Scott, so I wasn't going to pass up Tulsa.

I’m a sucker for cocky drummers; I think my obsession stems from my love for Mal Ericson from Kylie Scott’s Dive Series. So, when S.L. Scott introduced readers to the Crow Brothers, I knew that the youngest brother, Tulsa, would be the one I would gravitate towards and want to know everything about because there’s just something about the musical rhythms that drummers make that perhaps provides some insight into these complicated musicians.

Tulsa Crow is the quintessential rock star…at least the I’m a sucker for cocky drummers; I think my obsession stems from my love for Mal Ericson from Kylie Scott’s Dive Series. So, when S.L. Scott introduced readers to the Crow Brothers, I knew that the youngest brother, Tulsa, would be the one I would gravitate towards and want to know everything about because there’s just something about the musical rhythms that drummers make that perhaps provides some insight into these complicated musicians.

Tulsa Crow is the quintessential rock star…at least the part of himself that he allows people to see; he revels in the attention he receives, not only for his band’s music but for his hot body and sexy disposition. But the drummer who believes he’s God’s gift to both women and music has met his match in one soulful singer, which means that as much as Tulsa wants to get Nikki Faris underneath him, if he continues to be the walking stereotype for manwhore musicians, he’ll never know what kind of music they can make together.

Nikki is just the independent and stubborn woman to tame Tulsa’s impulsive behaviors, but that’s not something she can see herself doing, not only because it’s frowned upon to mix business with pleasure due to the fact that they’re both part of opening bands on The Resistance Tour, but also because she doesn’t see things working out for herself by getting in too deep with a guy who has never wanted anything lasting when it comes to the opposite sex.

Tulsa doesn’t follow the rules but starting anything with Nikki is not only ill advised, but it’s forbidden as well and the fact that their relationship has to be kept secret doesn’t bode well for any kind of solid foundation. But despite the fact that they both seem to know the score, their attraction to one another doesn’t seem to want to dissipate, which means that even though both Tulsa and Nikki are putting too much on the line, they can’t keep their hands off each other once they finally give into what’s been building between them for quite some time.

The interesting thing about what develops between Tulsa and Nikki is the fact that I would consider their relationship a slow burn, which is a bit ironic given Tulsa’s fast and easy attitude when it comes to the opposite sex; I thought it would just move on to the next girl when Nikki wouldn’t give into his charm, but I should have known that his initial reaction to her wasn’t anything like he’s experienced, which means that the length of his commitment to making Nikki his is not going to follow the same timeline as his earlier conquests.

The fact that members of The Resistance have cameos throughout Tulsa works really well, especially because the band has been in the business for quite some time and can pass on words of wisdom and advice, which makes it almost like they’re paying it forward, helping other up-and-coming bands make it big.

There are quite a few plot lines occurring at the same time in Tulsa, which definitely keeps readers on their toes; for some reason, I didn’t expect there to be suspense or twists and turns in the story, but that is exactly what S.L. Scott gives readers in the youngest Crow brother’s story. And, because she expertly merges all parts of the story line together, none of the events or situations seem out of place, which adds even more depth to the book.

Two Crow brothers down, which means Rivers’ story is the only one left and based on what his two brothers had to endure, it will be interesting to see what happens in his story…one thing is for sure, there’s plenty of passion, music, and camaraderie to come.

Enter Nikki, the lead singer for Ferris Wheel, the first opening act on The Resistance's tour. She's a bit of a punk rock version of the girl next door, with snark and sass to boot. On the bring of making it big themselves, Nikki and the band are hyper-focused on the tour being a success. The last thing she needs is a distraction, and Tulsa Crow could certainly become one if she's not careful.

Tulsa completely won my heart in this story. He's on my list of Top Book Boyfriends of 2018. I'm still swooning over the man, even though I finished the book last night. He's sexy, has a naughty mouth, and is the epitome of the bad-boy rocker. He's also a total sweetheart when you peel back all the layers he's built up over the years. He has a heart of gold and so much passion for what he does. Suzie kept me on my toes with him, because he developed so much over the course of the story.

Nikki is a perfect match for Tulsa. She doesn't deal with his shit and she's not afraid to put him in his place when he needs it. And she doesn't fall down drooling all over him like most women do. She commands respect, and she gets it, and also develops an authentic friendship with Tulsa too. These two are so stupid cute together, especially when they're bantering back and forth. Seriously, I get all kinds of swoony, heart flutters just thinking about it.

In addition to being a romance story, there's some action weaved throughout the book as well, which kept me on my toes. I knew there had to be some ulterior motives going on with one of the secondary characters (not gonna name that character because I don't wanna spoil anything). I couldn't quite pinpoint things, but I loved how Suzie threw me some curveballs and kept me chomping at the bit to figure out what was going on.

The music part of this book ... Gah! Like I said, nobody writes rockstars like Suzie writes them, and that showed yet again in Tulsa. Everything felt so realistic and I love how there were characters from some of my favorite Resistance novels in here, and the other Crow brothers, and the Resistance ladies, and ... I loved it. This is a book where the secondary characters are instrumental, and are just as amazing as the main ones.

If you like rocker romances, this is the perfect book for you. And if you've read the other books in the Resistance series, you definitely need to check out the Crow books now as well!

The rumors are true. At least where I’m concerned.

Drummers hit it harder and do it better.

Women love me and I love them. But I like to think of myself as a sensitive soul trapped in a lady-killer’s body. Not so surprisingly, I’ve been called cocky a time or two. What can I say? We can’t all be boy scouts.

Oh Tulsa!! I don’t even know where to begin. If you want a book with a super hot drummer and a super smart lead singer then grab Tulsa right now!! Tulsa’s and Nikki’s story is pretty amaze balls. There are a lot of laugh out loud moments. I gotta say my girl crush on Nikki is pretty strong.

Once again SL Scott has written a book with unforgettable characters and a book full of emotions.

As always, a fantastic, five star read!!

Tulsa and Nikki's love story is perfection.

He's the rascally, lusty playboy who's a good guy. He is himself, no facades here.

Nikki is a former beauty queen who's built a wall around herself that Tulsa breaks down, brick by brick.

They discover their other half in each other. Slow burn passion that eventually engulfs them. S.L. Scott does rock stars so well!

SL Scott knows how to keep you captivated by her words. First with Jet now with his younger Tulsa. Tulsa is book 2 in The Crows Brother series, but is a complete standalone.

Nikki, is the lead singer of Faris Wheel She's sexy, and extremely talented. She has some baggage, but she definitely doesn't need saved. She's strong, resilient, smart, and beautiful.
