Another great read by S.L Scott.

I loved watching the relationship develop between Luke and Jane, both were likable, endearing, passionate and entertaining characters.
And the chemistry between them was smoking!!! *fans self*

I loved this book! You need to meet Luke Anders! This man. Who does not love a dirty talking romantic at heart man! S.L. Scott gave us another second chance love story that will steal your heart.

I loved this second chance romance story! The beginning had me in tears but intrigued on what went down between Luke and Jane. They had a history and a relationship that got off track. They were meant to be together but when feelings get hurt and they aren't strong enough to fight for each other, hearts are broken. Luke Anders and Jane Lewis know a lot about storytelling; they know what kind of emotions, storylines, and scene locations are needed to lure readers/viewers in, leaving them swooning and spellbound out how the story plays out.

BUT, when it comes to their own love story, Luke and Jane don’t think they’ll ever find their happy ending because there is too much pain and heartbreak between them and not enough trust and communication to prove to one another that they can take a second chance at love a Luke Anders and Jane Lewis know a lot about storytelling; they know what kind of emotions, storylines, and scene locations are needed to lure readers/viewers in, leaving them swooning and spellbound out how the story plays out.

BUT, when it comes to their own love story, Luke and Jane don’t think they’ll ever find their happy ending because there is too much pain and heartbreak between them and not enough trust and communication to prove to one another that they can take a second chance at love and not be destroyed in the process if it doesn’t work out.

Young love, fear of commitment, and hopes for Hollywood is not the best combination when it comes to creating a lasting life together, and Luke and Jane learned this firsthand when one discussion sent Jane running and Luke relishing in the single life laid out before him. But regardless of the two years apart and the pain and mistrust they caused one another, they’re still destined to be together because they haven’t stopped loving one another and haven’t stopped yearning for the future they thought they would have together. The question is if they can put the hurt and feelings of betrayal behind them and focus on the future without getting lost in the flashbacks of their pain and bad decisions.

I adore second chance romance stories, but I have to admit, Luke and Jane frustrated me time and time again throughout Dirty Talk. It’s so easy to see how much they love one another and S.L. Scott does a great job of showcasing their feelings for each other as well as their fears and hesitancies, but the fact that they wouldn’t truly communicate with one another besides in the bedroom make me want to scream at both of them.

I understand that Jane is terrified to give her heart back to Luke, but he’s always had it - that’s been clear from the start of the story. It’s easy to see how much Luke’s unspoken words destroyed her and how his actions after she left felt like a betrayal, but Jane doesn’t try to see it from his side at all because she can only focus on herself, and I get that…she’s the one who feels slighted and abandoned, but her actions had repercussions as well, and she never stopped to understand that aspect of her situation with Luke, which only further tore them apart.

Throughout the story, I always felt that Luke and Jane would get everything resolved and find a way to be together, but then when the story line took a turn, I truly didn’t know if they could make it through, which frustrated me because I felt like Luke and Jane had enough to deal with, with the baggage between them and throwing something else in their path was just too much, too fast, but SL Scott does show the method to her madness and why the plot twist needed to occur.

I enjoyed Luke and Jane’s story, and Luke definitely is one dirty talker, but there’s also so much more to the man than just his smooth words and sexual prowess and throughout the story, the real Luke and Jane are explored and brought back together to see just how strong their love once was and if it can be again.
