I'm all for epic love, but this one went a step further and wouldn't let me forget it for one second. It started out as insta-love but the story takes place in the present, which means Sarah Jane and Alexander met 2-3 years ago. We don't really get to enjoy the highs and lows of them being together initially, which is usually my favorite part about being introduced to a couple, save a few flashbacks, but since they basically fell in love at first sight, there's not much to explain on that front I'm all for epic love, but this one went a step further and wouldn't let me forget it for one second. And since the falling in love part was so easy, the angst resides in Alexander's secrets. There's a lot of back and forth about Alexander thinking he's not good enough for the likes of Sarah Jane because of his dark side that he won't share with her and Sarah Jane's doubts about what Alexander sees in her because he could have anyone. And this is 2-3 years of them already being together. Sarah Jane wants to be let into Alexander's life and there's a lot of references to her being his queen, because his last name is Kingwood, or King, for short. It wasn't that I didn't like Alexander or Sarah Jane, they just didn't interest or excite me either. There weren't a lot of pivotal events either, except maybe 2-3, and those particular scenes felt forced in terms of giving the story something major to move forward from given all the wishy washy emotions bouncing back and forth in between because they were rather over the top. I don't know if that adequately balanced out the hardly anything that happened during the majority of the book. I did like the cover image of this book, going into thinking Alexander is a bad boy who rides a motorcycle, but he also happens to be the son of a CEO, poised to take over the business and wears a suit frequently, as well as attends a college that is difficult to get into so Alexander is academically intelligent, too...I dunno, that whole image put together confused me more than anything. So I came out of this story knowing one thing for sure: Alexander loves Sarah Jane and Sarah Jane loves Alexander and if you like constant reiterations of romantic declarations, then this might be for you. For a supposedly grittier tone, this one is pretty sappy, too. The ending is really dramatic to set up the sequel and I hope the next book also showcases more action rather than emotional expressions. ...more

What a fantastic story!

This is my first book by S.L Scott. What intrigued me in reading this book were the great reviews given. What they forgot to mention was how invested you become with Alexander and Sara Jane. To then have your heart ripped apart as you read the last few paragraphs of the book.
I highly recommend it, be warned you will need tissues and ugly cry will occur.

I got so wrapped to this story I forgot that it was a duet. I just knew I was about to find out what happened. So yes I am hooked.

Savage is the first book by S.L Scott that I have read and I absolutely loved it.

From the start of the book I was hooked and as the story went on I couldn’t put it down I wanted to know what would happen next.

Alexander and Sara Jane are your modern day star crossed lovers. They meet when she 17 and from the first day they both knew that the other had their soul.

Alexander as his demons and a part past. He’s trying to do what he thinks is best for him and Sara Jane but the secrets are piling up ...more

I wish I could put 100.000 stars!

I was planning to do a very long review but I can't. This author left me with so many emotions and I don't know how to deal with them. This book is not only amazing, but stunning, a beautiful and raw love story. It was more and even the blurb doesn't make it justice.
