I had read the Redemption first and it was an awesome story and now to have read the Resistance just made me love both books even more. In this book, SL Scott plunges us into a whirlwind romance starting in Las Vegas. Holliday Hughes is attending a conference there, her successful company being recognized among her peers. She’s not impressed with some of the attendants, though, and slips out to one of the hotel bars for a cocktail. This story is the stuff that movies are made of... brilliant, moving, haunting, twisted.
I don't know why it took me so long, far too long, to read this book. Is it because there are just so many rock star novels? I don't know.
But I know for sure that this book captivated me from the very first page and didn't let go of me until the last word.
Both characters, Holliday and Johnny/ Jake, are so human with all their strengths and weaknesses, so alive, so profound ...
