City of Ashes was decently enjoyable and interesting enough but not that great. The things that saved it for me were the humour and action scenes.

The events of this book were A LOT better than the first but the characters got way more irritating.
Simon, Clary and Jace were in a whole nother level of annoying in this book, which made the reading process a bit difficult.
I was going to give a 4 star because of the plot, but the characters force me to give a *3,5* rating.
