The imagery is amazing. If you didn't love Italy before this book you will after. It's another life. She found true happiness in two lives. Her educator life with the precocious cat, tiny apartment in San Fran surrounded by city, culture and activity and then the eccentric american restoring an 100 year old Italian villa and hunting down ancient tombs on the weekend, exploring making olive oil, wine and finding frescas beneath layers of paint in your dinning room.
