Absolutly fantastic from beginning to end.
Gray has done an wounderful job here in creating a book is not just an excellent Star Wars novel but an excellent novel in it's own right. Telling a lovely, tragic love story against the backdrop of a fading empire, this story had everything I could ask for, an outstanding plot, relatable, likable characters, cutting social commentry all while serving to expand the Star Wars universe I love.

FINALLY, after Tarkin and Aftermath, a really excellent Star Wars book! This one had the characters, the settings, the plot, and the emotional ties to keep me reading it all in one giant gulp (I stayed up way too late last night finishing it). Post-RotJ material is minimal, but some small parts of the trailer for Episode VII are explained. Can't recommend this highly enough to Star Wars fans.

I liked how the story weaved through the original Star Wars movies but the love story was laid on a bit too thick.
