I've always been a sucker for young adult fantasy books and this one did not disappoint! It was a very unusual and very interesting alternate earth setting, and it included steampunk but being in a more modern setting rather than taking place in a Victorian-ish era. I loved the clockwork, wind-up crabs that were used to cut the grass on the campus and wish desperately that I had a few here at home.

In Typical Sanderson fashion I was ready to write this off as an average book with a few chapters left to go, then suddenly everything was turned on it's head a few times over and I came out hanging out to see how the story continues.
Sanderson perfectly refines his style of excellent world-building, a unique well defined magic system and a plot which never goes the way you would expect with twists with completely redefine the world and characters time and time again.
