The first of the Alex Benedict novels. Alex takes over some research from his uncle and discovers that what the history books say about the war hero who helped unify the Confederation may not be accurate, and some people don't want the truth to be revealed.

Pretty good mystery although a bit slow. The world-building is very good with a deep history. The characters are decently realized if suddenly too smart in certain situations and their motivations were sometimes head-scratching. Ending felt a little rushed.
