I picked this up on a lark and really, really enjoyed it. Some of the entries were quite moving, others ludicrous. While the basic premise and setting are nerdy enough, the writing is just damn fine. I think Max Brooks must be suffering from multiple personality disorder - the stories are spot-on and appropriately different for each person in the narrative.

Interesting book about events that take place during a zombie apocalypse that spans the globe and how humanity fights back to survive.
Written from the perspective of a journalist that travels the globe interviewing participants in the war. From soldiers to scientists to normal plebs caught in the crisis, the book makes for entertaining reading.
It does drag a bit towards the end and I found myself skimming the last 40 pages, but would still recommend the book to anyone interested in end of the wo ...more

Well written, but I just couldn't get in to it. Maybe I'm not a zombie person.
