I haven't read a book by Bacigalupi before but after this one I will be seeking out more. My favourite part of this book was the way it defied the typical contemporary science fiction troupe of focusing on a major, often world or universe changing conflict, with well defined "good" and "evil" sides.

Very good book - a little bit heavy on the sexual abuse themes for my taste, but otherwise excellent.
