My favorite part of the book was the juxtaposition of Mike and Jamie, which showed two distinct approaches to dealing with sexuality and persona in a small town. Also poignant was Mike's coming to terms with her father's suicide two years before. The one aspect that fell slat was the romance angle. It kept going long after I was ready for it to be finished. ...more

IIRC, I kind of skipped all the parts about Xanadu. The love story wasn't interesting to me, even though I was totally into Mike. Probably due for a reread at some point.
