A fantastic character-driven mystery/thriller novel set in New York during WWII, and a sailor who gets caught up in a male bordello working for his country in hopes to trap a spy.

Gay spy thriller. Fun read but the sex got a tad gratuitous - it’s of the era in gay literature where this type of explicitness was necessary to attract an audience, I think. Also, the neat wrapping at the end wasn’t as intriguing as the rest of the novel.
