I wanted to finish this book before seeing the musical, but that didn't happen. I was probably a quarter done but it was enough to know that the musical and book are completely different in plot, tone, and emphasis.

This is a brilliant re-telling of THE WIZARD OF OZ that will change the way you look at that classic work forever! Elphaba is an awesome character who shouldn't, but still does, end up stealing your heart and earning your sympathy.
