Thanks to NetGalley and The Publisher for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I almost didn't finish this book as I found style of writing very inconsistent. In parts lyrical and poetic and in others East-end gangster crime novel-esque. I also found the themes to be going over the same old ground in relation to Transatlantic Slavery, Black British History, and Nigerian poverty.
