I wish I could say I enjoyed this as much as the last book but, sadly, it just didn't keep the flame alive for me. I felt like I needed to keep reading just to get to the end, to see what became of the characters even though, once again, I didn't care too much about them. The end was a surprise as the book could very easily have been the conclusion of the series and I wonder if the twist was just to set the characters off on a new adventure. For the Popsugar challenge this is the book with more than 20 characters in the title.

Unlike the first book, Children of Virtue and Vengeance did not grab me. However, it's unfair to say that it's because of the subject matter, but rather because the pandemic has lead to my attention span having a serious deficit. Consequently, it would be inappropriate to rate the book as I had to reread parts on more than one occasion.

Sad to say but this just was not what I expected. Book 1 was one of my favourite reads of 2019 and Book 2 was my first dissappointment of 2020.

I was trying so hard to get back in touch with the characters the way I did with Book 1 but I felt like the story was going around in circles.

Im still going to read book 3 and I still have high hopes for the movie.
