Not his best book, but still an enjoyable read. A journalist from the big city, comes to small town america to do a story, and becomes infatuated with a woman that he just met. Although his job is somewhat portable, he is willing to throw away his ultimate dreams for his career and move to her. Travelling too much was one of the factors in the failure of his first marraige.
Make sure to read this book before "At First Sight" It is a beautiful love story that just continues into the next book!

I love it when people follow their heart. You don’t stop to think it through… you just…..jump! You have to….. believe! It’s a risk I must admit but life is too short not to risk it.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I wasn't in a hurry to finish as I was content to just savour each page. It even had a happy ending, which I wasn't quite expecting having seen some of his books-made-into movies that usually don't end well. This was the first book I've read by Nicholas Sparks and I absolutely love his writing.
