The Winner's Curse is an enthralling, beautifully written tale of political intrigue, forbidden love, and the struggles of stepping out of ones shell. Rutkoski has pulled me into her fabulous new trilogy with poetic writing, myterious and intriguing characters, as well as a world like no other I have read about.

So I don't want to add a really long lengthy review to this book but I will say that it definitely surprised me. The writing is way beyond your average YA book and the characters are extremely well developed. It's not just romance mind you. There's a lot of shit that happens in this book. Quite enjoyed it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there were some parts that I tended to skim over because I didn't care too much about it.
