Omg this booooook!!! I've seen so many bad reviews on this but I honestly thought this was one of the beats books I've ever read!!! I immediately started City Of Ashes when I finished this because I need to know everything all the way up to City Of Heavenly Fire so I'm trying to get there by the end of this year, I know I can do it but I have so many books to read! This book has DEFINATELY gotten me out of a reading slump though because it was just so mmmmmm!!! I love this book!!

First up can I just say that Simon is the funniest character I've ever read about!!
I really enjoyed this book even though it was a bit slow at the start. I feel this book really set the rest of the series up very well and I'm super excited to read City of Ashes!!

IT IS 4:17 AM AND I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED A CASSANDRA CLARE BOOK. I really really enjoyed this book! It was a really fun read and I highly recommend it to everyone although I am not a huge fan of the twist it took at the end there. Re-read in December 2015:
I decided to re-read this before the start of the TV show in January. I loved it just as much the second time and I loved finding all the subtle hints of what's to come in the rest of the series that I didn't get when first reading the book.
I am so excited for the TV show, I think it's going to be amazing.

AMAZING!! By far one of the best books I've read in a long time! From the second I picked up this book, I became absorbed into the world and characters and couldn't put it down! I loved every moment of it! Clary was so relatable and if I was in her position I totally would have reacted the same way as her. The relationship between her and Jace was adorable oh my gosh, plus their character development was really good, in my opinion. I wasn't planning on reading this after already watching the movie. I'm so glad I picked this up because I now have a series that will last me the summer.

I thought the world building was great and I felt I really got to know each character. Because of this I felt connected to the characters and need to read more.

My only problem with this book was Isabelle. At points she sounded whinny and a bit like a little girl. Her dialogue sound immature and "young."
