Kept me spellbound from page 1 this book. Definitively one of the more angst filled pride and prejudice sequals I have read but not unbearable. Darcy comes to rescue Lizzy by offering her his hand in marriage as her father are on his deathbed. She marries him for necessity and then he discovers it... Unputdownable!

This book was a roller coaster ride for me, but learning how to be in a relationship really is so it was also very realistic. The development of the love story was well done in balancing the good parts and bad parts, the harder part and the easier parts of developing and growing a relationship that begins with two people who know and understand very little about the other. 2024: Read for the fourth time!!!

5 stars! Read for the third time. An excellent book, well written, with an excellent storyline. I wonder how come I only gave it three stars the first time I’ve read it. Maybe because well, the writing style and how the story is told is different from Jane Austen, however it is still very enjoyable to read.

Relu, finalement c’est pas si mal mais séquences de pensées interminables, dommage.

Bien écrit, mais malheureusement des comportements inadaptés à l’époque.

Shelves: audible-reads

Well written & engaging. The characters felt accurate. I enjoyed the insight into Mrs Bennet & her thoughts in her marriage. I also liked the more protective Bingley.

It was a little more angsty towards the end than I would have liked, but that is a matter of personal taste.
