Harper Lee's "Go Set a Watchman" is a sequel to her award winning novel "To Kill A Mockingbird". The story is still set in Maycomb, Alabama as it had been in To Kill A Mockinbird but much has changed. Scout is 26 and returning home from New York City to see a very ill Atticus, who now resides with Aunt Alexandra, and her boyfriend Henry. Much has changed in Maycomb and throughout the novel Scout is put through mental warfare coming to terms with tthe fact that though her hometown itself will never change, the people in it will; even the ones she loves.
This novel had many positive elements and one that I think "To Kill a Mockingbird" enthusiasts appreciate the most is that after all these years it gave life to the characters once more, though it may not have been the life they been imagined to live. That being said, the book turned heroes into almost villains and forever tainted readers perspective of beloved characters. As a whole, this book is worth reading and many Harper Lee fans would appreciate it. Go Set A Watchman draws readers who enjoy a mystery, and trying to figure the reason behind human emotion and action.
