It follows the end of Amy and Elder's journey as they finally reach the new planet Centauri-Earth they have been striving towards. On the planet, new mysteries and the mysteries that engrossed them as they traveled through space do not cease. The strangest part is that the new world seems to have already been inhabited by someone or something other than their colony. Whatever it is that already lies on the planet poses a major threat to not only the survival of the humanity but also their love. This story is an excellent conclusion to the trilogy as it gives a well deserved ending to the characters and a positive feeling for readers.

Usually I am not the type of person who seeks out or enjoys novels with a futuristic feel, but the first book from the series appeared on my recommended list and I decided to give it a try. Now here I am. I just finished the third book and loved the entire trilogy. These books were very unique from the way the author combined so many genres into a group of young adult books so that there was something for everyone to love. I was especially entertained by the book's mystery aspects; I was engrossed by all of the secrets, lies, plot twists, and trail of clues that surrounded the characters involved. I was able to connect well with the two main characters, Amy and Elder, because of the way the author wrote from both of their perspectives, I was inspired by how the teens were so different yet similar in their passion to fight for not only the truth but their love. For these reasons, I would definitely recommend Shades of Earth and the whole Across the Universe series to anyone.
