The Ocean at the End of the Lane, by Neil Gaiman, tells the story of a man who returns home for his fathers funeral. While he is home, he is pulled to the farmhouse down the road where unknown, terrible, and breath taking things had happened to him when he was a young boy. As he sat by the pond, he began to remember his past and the one and only, Lettie Hempstock. Lettie and her family happen to be the only reason he is alive today .
