That’s how Red was, and when he befriended the new guy Andy, he also claimed to be innocent. Red was a familiar face around Shawshank and was the guy that could get you anything from cigarettes to a large poster of Rita Hayworth. Red wasn’t the main focus of the book though; it revolved around Andy and his years in the prison. Andy was tortured by The Sisters and spent weeks in an isolated cell for proving his innocence. Even after the cruel times, Andy had hope no matter what and it was his hope that led to freedom. This book written by Stephen King reminds me to never give up and to keep fighting for what I deserve. King never fails to entertain the reader while touching them at the same time. I recommend this book to a mature reader, and I believe many readers would enjoy this book as much as I did.
