1984 By George Orwell is a classic dystopian novel, eerily prescient of the state of modern society. Winston Smith, the main character, tries to rebel against Big Brother. Big Brother is a symbol of Oceania’s government. As the titular head of Oceania, he is always watching. No one knows if he really exists, but he keeps the people in line.
