Wars are waged and won on the whims of the Senior Elite and now Marnye has caught their attention. They are not pleased that she upset the order of the junior club members and they want her gone. Everything comes down to the final moments at Burberry, even Marnye's life.

I can't say that I was completely satisfied with this final book. Yes, there was an ultimate showdown and resolution but it seemed rushed and extreme. Too extreme. And somewhere along the way, the characters were lost. Marnye became a hypocrite. She claimed that her revenge would always be letting them hang themselves, yet her final act seemed to mirror the original idols torture of her. Multiple people were physically hurt along the way. Why the need for revenge at all at that point? She had won; living her best life, still being at school and thriving, taking what they considered theirs by birthright was the ultimate revenge. But yes, I know, that's no this story. Miranda became an afterthought instead of a bestie. This was so unfair to her character. Andrew was reduced to less than that. Lizzie played the predictable role just as much as Harper. The guys' characters were never developed any further than the early books. Poor Windsor never even got that much. And my pet peeve of romance but especially RH was realized. The relationships never deepened. I was told the guys fell in love with Marnye, not shown. No details, nothing to make me believe. This is bad enough in a regular romance but in an RH where guys who can have any girl they want are going to share one girl, it absolutely won't work. What makes Marnye so special to each one? Why are they willing to share? The relationships must have depth. I can't simply be told, it must be shown, it must be proven. Then there's her sister and mother. Her sister served no purpose in this story. Her mother was ridiculous. This woman left her at a truck stop as a toddler. There's no coming back from that. Meet, talk, move on. There are too many other people in the world to bother with this one. It made me think less of Charlie each time they were together. Both of these characters could have been left out. Finally, there's mention of a visit Marnye makes to a former Idol. NOPE! There is no good reason this should have happened.

I did enjoy the pace of the book and the tension. I hated that each book began with a spoiler. I think the first three books would have been better served without one, but in this book, it worked. It did amp up the suspense and as the danger was revealed along the way, it kept the reader on edge. I love the tie-in with the other academy. I like the message of brains and hard work overpowering wealth and entitlement. I love that people can redeem themselves and live better. I love Charlie's faith and love for his daughter. I love Miranda's faithfulness. I love the pure craziness of Myron. I love Marnye's ability to turn a negative into a positive. I love Zack's muscles and his hugs, Winston's smile and his love of tea, Tristan's eyes and his academic competitiveness, Creed's hair and that he reminds me of a lounging lion, and Zayd's everything. I would like one more book, The Boys of Bornstead, set right at graduation. It would have some flashbacks and flash-forwards so that we know how everyone and everything turned out. ...more

Oh my, did I ever love this series! When it first started, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about it, but with each book in the series I fell more and more in love with these characters and the storyline. I thought this final installment to be an excellent and fitting ending, though I’ll admit I expected a bit more drama to happen throughout the story, though that ending definitely brought it! Highly recommend this entire series
