Filthy Rich Boys (Rich Boys of Burberry Prep, #1) in Reverse Harem? Anyone?

I will admit that I set this book aside when I read the first 5 chapters mainly because it took a little while to kick into action. However a couple of days later I picked it up again and couldn’t put it down.

Filthy Rich Boys is a contemporary RH that contains bullying as the main theme. Obviously if you’ve read the blurb you know that our FMC (Marnye)won a scholarship to one of the most prestigious schools in the country but the locals think she is trash and not welcomed, locals being rich, ent I will admit that I set this book aside when I read the first 5 chapters mainly because it took a little while to kick into action. Marnye is obviously made of stronger stock and takes everything that they dish out but when she loses a bet to all three idols (Tristan, Creed and Zayd) it’s the beginning of possibly the worse situation.

Now the reason behind my star rating:
😑 I get that these kids are entitled and have access to resources but these kids are 15 years old and they all seem very experienced and given that there are implications that this has been going on for some time I find it difficult to comprehend. (Driving and I mean racing, gambling, doing drugs, having sex and not the tame stuff you get my drift)
😑 Marnye feels like she can’t fight back because of the stipulations of her scholarship however there are scenes and situations that are highly illegal, being drugged and assaulted, I would think that she would do something about it like get even, so long as she doesn’t get caught or leave evidence. Especially the last scene with the video - that’s child pornography and at the very least the school is obligated to investigate.
😑 Lastly Mayne is predisposed to depression and suicide but not once did she think about repeating that pattern which seems a bit of a contradiction. Given the number of attempts and the time frame the most likely outcome is to fall back into the same pattern but she didn’t.

I like how the book was set up, from the prologue you gleaned that something was going to go down but then for the rest of the book you were waiting for the other shoe to drop so well done ! I am anticipating he next book and how it will play out I have a couple of theories I’m eager to find out!!

Torturous read. I know we are all book lovers but if some rich kid wants to burn a book and waste his money don’t fucking cry about it. She needs a backbone and a shotgun, possibility a dungeon with a few torture devices in it. I hope there’s pegging and no lube.
