I have finally read this very hyped book and i must say i really really enjoyed reading it! I was very scared to go into this book as i had heard so many good things but also that its not as good as her other series which i had read first but i really liked the concept and plot of this book. I liked that the action pretty much started straight away. Celaena I love how strongwilled she is, she felt like a real person to me as she had her flaws but they worked for her. I REALLY enjoyed reading this book! I am so attached to many different characters and I love the world building so far, it's made me so curious as to how things are going to go in the next books!
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel like there was a lot more love triangle going on than anything, however I feel like it was important to the story and the love triangle was done perfectly so I can't really complain too much!!!!

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up!! Reread 2024!! I decided to reread the book after reading The Assassins Blade. I think reading that one did increase my enjoyment a little bit. The first time I read this I liked it but it didn’t live up to the hype for me. I do think the series gets a lot better but just this first one isn’t the best. I gave this one 3 stars the first time I read it but I’m bumping it up 1/2 a star this time. I definitely recommended reading the assassins blade first. I’m excited to continue

this was my first try at a high fantasy book and it turned out absolutely AMAZING! this book was breathtaking-ly beautiful I got so many feels that I was emotionally unstable Sarah J mass bravo to you

-Celaena loves to read. SHE LOVES TO READ! Be my girlfriend please? Haha.
-Nehemia is cool and bad ass with her knowledge about wyrdmarks.
-Kaltain is a total bitch. I hope she dies! I don't know what I'll be able to do if I find out she is set free. Please no.
-The King and Duke Perrington's conversation during Celaena's contract signing ...more

Flew through this book in one day! Such an awesome start to a series! Absolutely loved it!!!! I want to be Celaena; aka the most badass female of life! Found one of my new favourite writers I think!
