I wish I wrote this review sooner because I've totally forgotten everything. I did't think I was going to read this book because I have heard a few people say that they really didn't enjoy it. But now that I've read it, I'm wondering why! I feel like the main difference this book has with Colleen Hoover's other books, is that it is YA (although Slammed is YA too). But I really enjoyed it! The plot of this book was so crazy! I loved how twisty turny it was. There were so many plot twists that I didn't see coming and I absolutely loved it. I thought it was very heartbreaking, but it was written very well. I wouldn't recommend going into this book trying to be a detective and figuring everything out, because it will totally ruin the experience. I was so shocked I literally gasped and had to stop reading for a bit. Like woah. I guess if I had of read the synopsis of the book, I may have seen it coming, but I enjoy going into Hoover's books without knowing anything. It's honestly the best way.

My only criticism with this book is that for some aspects, it really didn't seem realistic. Particularly with their age and the way they handled things. One of my pet hates in YA books is when the characters who aren't even adults, are making adult decisions and walking around acting like they are adults.

Oh, one more thing that annoyed me was the fact that Sky called her mother by her first name. She would call her mum to her face but every other time, it was by name and I just cannot stand that. Why do people do that? I've read 2 books where the main characters call their parents by their first names, in the last 2 weeks. Ridiculous!!

I honestly thought the characters were very well written. I also liked how it wasn't your typical YA romane. This couple had good communication skills (for the majority of the time), and they just worked really well together. I enjoyed reading from Skys perspective, I thought she had a good sense of humour and was just a really nice character. Dean was also mighty fine. I really want to read Losing Hope but I'm a bit worried because I know how it ends for him. We'll see! I still need to read 5 books to make my reading challenge for the year so it might be one of them.

That's all I have to say about that book, I'm sure there's more but it's been a week and I can't remember anything. I would definitely recommend it though for anyone, especially if you like Colleen Hoover. I think this is one of Colleen's darker books in terms of plot. I know a lot of her books are sad but this one was just dark. There were a lot of rough themes dealt with in this book, so if you have triggers you should check out the trigger warnings on this one.

Well, pretty much wow.
I am extremely fascinated by the plot, how on earth did someone come up with this? I like to believe that the author, Colleen left a few trails or I'm just good at predicting.
The writing was very particular from other authors I think, because I was really in the book. Every thought was described, everything was - which I completely loved.
I was captivated by Holder just as much as Sky was. I loved how so many things just made sense and why so many things were.

I'm very confused about this book. The beginning was so boring and stereotypical but I loved the topics this book covered because they aren't usually discussed in YA literature. The plot twist at the end was extremely interesting and thank goodness it was there because otherwise it would've been a 1.5 star review. ...more

the only reason this book isn't 5 stars for me is because of the beginning. I honestly felt like I wasn't going to end up liking this book at all I mean I didn't find anything about Holder attractive and Sky was annoying. But boy was I wrong, I ended up loving it and everything Holder does at the beginning just made sense. I REALLY did not expect the twist but it was great. I am obsessed with Colleen Hoover books and have been flying through them! Loved Hopeless probably not as much as Slammed but still worth the five stars! After reading this book I want my own real nonfiction Dean Holder hahahah but I definitely recommend this book the ending was shocking and fantabulous

This is the second series of Colleen Hoover’s that I read this month.
I’ve read three of Slammed series last week and really really loved them. I’ve had the same high expectation on this series to begin with. But sadly this book didn’t grab my attention as hard as what Slammed did. I do find the story is good and heartbreaking, really. But I just don’t love this book like I loved Slammed. And I have my own reason for this.
