THE THREE-BODY PROBLEM
1 in physics and classical mechanics: the problem of taking initial positions and velocities of three masses and solving for their subsequent motion according to Newton’s laws of motion and universal gravitation.
2 in literature: the quandary of delivering ideas worded by a writer in a language and rooted in a culture by means of translation into another language by an interpreter to a reader rooted in an altogether different culture.

In my initial review I stated that this book reminded me of Marakami's Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of The World, due to dual world building. Liu Cixin's provocative novel has swept China. As an American reader, I found his text refreshing and insightful. This novel belongs with the respected cadre of American SF as an example of forward-thinking fiction.
