This book was recommended to me. It is apparently a revisionist account of L. F. Baum's Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Generally speaking, I am fond of revisionist books as I always like to check the other side of the coin! It jut shows how subjective our interpretations can be. Well, I mark it to read- if only I can find the book! I also read somewhere about a fictional revision of Beowulf [re-]narrated by Grendel's mother, I believe. I never found the book but I was fascinated by the idea.

I love this book because it's a totally new take on the Wizard od Oz. It dosen't contradict the Wizard of Oz,but it shows you what was really happening. It is told by Alphaba(The WIcked Wich of the West) and about how she became wicked. It is really dark and depressing, but really good!
