I know this is going to be a really tough book for me to review.
I loved this book, just like the Demon King, but there were definitely some parts of it that I liked less... but then again I really did love seeing our characters in new places and finally working a lot more with magic. So there were some aspects that I sort of enjoyed MORE I guess.. I don't really know.

The Exiled Queen is a great second book to the Seven Realms series. I suppose since this is the second book I cant go into too much detail without spoilers but I loved it, possibly even more than the first one. All the characters have developed so much more and the story is moving along really nicely. The writing was still on point as well. Spoiler time!

(view spoiler)[I felt like I had a lot more fun reading this book than I did The Demon King, I loved the setting at Oden's Ford and how you got to see Han and Raisa in such different environments. With these books I'm always eager for the two of them to reunite but I don't feel like the story suffers for the time they spend apart. I actually think it adds to the series. Yes, it's frustrating that every time they get together they're forced apart by circumstances out of their control but every time they get back to each other it's so enjoyable, the payoff is totally worth the torture of them being at the same school for so long without seeing each other.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Bayar's role in this book. Both Micah and Fiona just intrigue the crap out of me. They're so hard to get a read on. I think Raisa was right when she said Micah had both good and bad in him, but the good might all be selfishly motivated. So how can we know if he's truly good or if it's just that, at times the right thing happens to suit his interests? I obviously think he cares about Raisa, or he would have just let those assassins kill her and married Mellony.

There are still so many unanswered questions. I wonder if we'll discover more about Crow in the future. Who is he and why doesn't he have his own magic? Why does he hate the Bayars so much? I feel like he might be trapped in Aediion or however you spell it. Or I thought he might be dead. Could be either one, maybe one of the Bayars trapped him there and now he cant get out, it would explain why he always happened to be there whenever Han went, and he never seemed to get weak and have to leave.

I do want to comment on how well done the romance is in these books. Raisa and Han were so absolutely sweet in this book, I couldn't get enough of their meetings and Raisa tutoring him on how to act like a blueblood. So cute. I cant wait until he finds out who she really is. I'm assuming that'll be the big reveal in the third book, probably right at the end. I'm excited to get into the next book and finish up this great series. (hide spoiler)] ...more

Whew. This took some time to get through. But, with patience comes a big reward. I loved this one. This series is full of political intrique and awesome characters. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next.
