I found this book to be touching, heroic, and inspiring, in addition to being well written. Lilias Trotter lived an example of using her gifts, but not being ruled by them. She held them lightly, willing to walk toward a greater calling and away from her gift of art. The struggles of a woman in Algeria, let alone a woman desiring to live for Christ, were seemingly insurmountable.
