This book was singularly interesting. I wasn't overly engaged with the characters or the plot, but I picked it back up every spare chance I got. It was a very compulsory read. By the same token, this book will make you think, but not about the characters or the plot, it will just put you in a very philosophical mood - or at least it did for me. It was uniquely intriguing.

This slow moving story really didn't have any positive outcomes. If you like to read about bad things that just get worse without any true resolution then this book is for you. If characters who are completely self-absorbed and not too smart, either intellectually or emotionally, drive you crazy then skip it.
