I’ve never read a nonfiction book that brought me to tears as many times as this one. I’m glad I read this - but what a tragedy. Everything you think you know about Columbine is wrong. This was a failure on so many fronts. I appreciated the afterward and hearing Dave Cullens voice break as he talks about how being in the middle of it (even as a journalist) impacted him and his mental health.
Required reading.
I don’t recommend powering through this book in under 24 hours like I did(I have 3 other books checked out and need to move on quickly), but I recommend this highly. Days later I am still thinking about it.
This is the most comprehensive piece of media about the Columbine shooting ever released. I will have this sitting with me for a while, but the mass murders in this country sit on my heart every day.
