The Cuckoo's Calling is crime fiction at its best. JK Rowling...I mean, Robert Galbraith, tells a tale of a down-on-his-luck private detective. I couldn't put the book down. I loved it and I can't wait to read another Cormoran Strike novel!

Dull
I liked this. A detective story can be hard to pull off because there are so many factors that can go wrong. The detective himself must be likable...and Comoran Strike really is loveable. Big, clumsy, miserable after a break up and smart as can be. The mystery that the detective is hired to solve can either be way obvious or too convoluted....and here is the reason I only gave it three stars vs four. I didn't guess who the murderer was until the very end but there just seemed to be way too much

Not a fan of mystery novels but I am a fan of Rowling. I just love her writing style and I really enjoyed reading this book.
