Louise Penny writes a decent mystery novel. The story was entertaining and low key, maybe would be considered a cozy mystery? I chose the book for the Book Bingo challenge because I needed “an author with a last name that starts with P.” I liked the tie-in to the title in the last sentence.
This is the first book in the series. I have heard mixed reviews of this book but have also been told the series is really good. What I liked about this book – the characters were well flushed. I didn’t like the murder happened at the very beginning so the reader is not given a chance to learn more about the victim.
