A really good, haunting read. This a book that would not let you fall asleep just thinking about it. It has great writing, Ian McEwan is the master of control. It has a very gripping plot. Despite the control it was given, the emotions are too raw. I just felt all the bitterness, love, regret, passion and longing in the book. And you would definitely love the characters especially Briony. A standing ovation! :)

Third time's the charm, and I've finally finished this book! While McEwan has a gorgeous way with words, this book is agonizingly slow. I think I'll be adding this to the short stack of books where I prefer the movie. ...more
