My rating is probably 4.5 stars if it was possible. The story is about the German occupation of Guernsey during World War II (which I had never learned about) and how the people of Guernsey dealt with and recovered from it. WOW! This book is phenomenal; I enjoyed it SO much. I read it after watching the Netflix movie version (which I also loved, but the book is even ten times better!), and did not expect to become so immediately enamored with it. It is definitely a new favorite that I will no doubt read again and again, as the characters and setting of Guernsey are so infinitely delightful. It will be a joy to revisit this world! So glad I read this book!

I love how it was written. I love the pacing and how it does not revolve around the love story. I just felt that the ending was a bit hurried. I would love a longer book.
