I really enjoyed this book. I came to love the characters and their stories. I didn't know anything about the occupation of the channel islands during world war two. It was a really interesting read. My only complaint was that it took me awhile to sort out all of the characters because the book was written entirely in letters but once I figured out who all the characters were I really enjoyed the book. I had low expectations of this book and it turned out to surprise me. While the voice doesn’t seem to change from letter to letter, I still enjoyed it and appreciated not having to change tone in my head back and forth, so almost wonder if that’s on purpose.

Loved the perspective of WW2 from Guernsey. It was a great and fun read...Greatly looking forward to how they decide to play this out in the movie coming to Netflix on 8/10. Love Lily James and really hope the movie does the book justice.

I loved this book. The beginning was a little slow for me, but I am glad I pressed on. I love books that take place in a country setting.
