This book was more or less exactly what you'd expect from Neil Gaiman, but not quite what I expected a Sleeping Beauty retelling to be (in the best possible way). With a smidge of Snow White thrown in and beautiful illustrations just begging to be turned into an adult coloring book, it certainly is beautiful to look at.
Quite honestly the story alone would probably have been just o.k. for me but the beautiful illustrations. So beautiful.

Loved the audio version of the story. Full cast performance of a twisted fairy tale.

Beautifully illustrated and wonderfully written, this is a true fairy tale treasure. I've always had a special place in my heart for the old stories, and this keeps true to their spirit and weight while still being fresh and engaging. This is probably the most beautiful book in my library right now.

I wish this was longer! So beautiful and unexpected!
