WELL THEN!
This had an utterly ridiculous premise, and I absolutely do not care. WWII nurse is tossed back in time to 18th century Scotland? Okie dokey! (Though if you ask me, she seemed even a bit modern for the '40s.)
I largely enjoyed Gabaldon's writing style - she has a knack for making the scenery feel real without TOO many adjectives. Enough to forgive the handful of random SAT words sprinkled throughout. ;) I laughed more than I expected too, though that may not have all been intended...

This was a book prescription for me from the Book Apothecary. It was okay. I will probably finish the series at some point. I've read far stupider, trashier and more ill-written books than this one.
