What Members Thought

The plot and characterization get 5 stars, but it lost one for being littered with linguistic anachronisms (what highlander in 1743 uses phrases like "lowest common denominator" or calls a priest a padre?) and another due to my squeamishness with where Gabaldon seemed to draw the line between consensual sex and rape in the first half of the book. But then it got one back when the second half was so riveting that I forgot all my issues with the beginning. Seriously, couldn't put it down.
