I've been wanting to read this book for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally got around to it! I actually read this in one sitting.

I enjoyed this short, young adult novel set in a future of conformity ans "sameness". Jonas is almost 12, when he will be given his adult work assignment. This is a great look at freedom, choice and so many other big issues and I bet it has started many a great dialogue in 8th grade lit classes.
