There were parts of this book that I completely related to, and loved. Other parts were a bit slow, drawn out, and could be easily skipped over. I've had this book on my shelves for a while now, and finally got around to reading it because I want to see the movie. I have a feeling this may be a rare time when the movie will be better than the book.

I listened to this on my iPhone while I ran over the last few weeks. I just really didn't enjoy this book. If it had been in book form, I would have quit long ago. Lots I just spaced out when listening to.
The author just comes across selfish & childish - and running away from her problems rather than trying to sort them out. In actuality, she was given an advance on a book deal to write this book, which financed her travels. It doesn't seem like she really "gave up" anything to search for her so ...more
